(Ottawa, Canada) • Delicious authentic African + Caribbean flavour in town.
Ambiance: This place is very small with very limited seats (2 tables and stools), so it might better to do take-out instead but we ate in anyway. There is a counter area where you can see them cooking. You order at the counter from a limited menu which I like because it makes it easier.
Service: Very, very friendly. It’s a family-run business so it’s nice to see the enthusiasm and pride on their faces and in their talk. She checked in on us and seemed genuinely pleased what we liked her food.
Cleanliness: The counter was pretty clean, and also the bar top where we sat. We received take out containers and disposable cutlery.
Food wait time: It took a little longer than I was expecting since we were the only ones there but not too long that would make us annoyed.
Food presentation: It looked fresh and appetizing. It would have been better if we were served plates.
Portion: Quite big. We had the chicken combo with salad, and my husband was satisfied after his meal.
Taste: I found mine to be a bit spicy but my husband loved it as he loves spicy food, the chicken was tender and the plantains just right. I will try to order something different if I am back there. The salad on the other hand was delicious, I loved the sauce!
