(Orleans, Canada) • A beach side rum shack, good music with live DJ on the weekend and a tropical atmosphere with umbrella tables and chairs. The shack is now closed for the season but they should be open again next spring.
Ambiance: With the nice summer we had it was so pleasant to sit at the patio enjoying the breeze and good live music!
Service: Friendly but very slow. The place accepts cash only, there is an ATM machine on site. You order at the counter and they call out your number when the food is ready.
Cleanliness: Our table and seats were clean. Behind the counter didn’t seem very tidy.
Food wait time: It was pretty slow even though there were not a lot of people there. It took between 20-30 minutes to get our food.
Food presentation: The salad and poutine looked delicious, the burger, however, didn’t seem appetizing at all, the bread looked very dry.
Portion: The salad is pretty big but the poutine and burger were small.
Taste: I had the Calypso salad and it was great! The sauce was not overpowering and it had enough amount of fruit. My husband had a burger but it was so small that he ended up getting also a jerk chicken poutine. He liked the poutine a lot but the burger was disappointed as the bread was very dry.
