(Orleans, Canada) • Authentic Portuguese restaurant in Orleans, worth a trip there if you are not in the area to visit this hidden gem. From the outside it blends in with the stores around but there is a nice big blue sign on top.
Visit date: 01/2020
Ambiance: The restaurant is fairly small, a bit dark but cozy, nice decor, the bar has a big display of drinks and 2 TVs, on the main wall a beautiful painting portraying parts of Portugal. Nice relaxing music in the background. Reservation is recommended as the place fills up fast. We didn’t have one and we got seated anyway but we were reminded about it several times by our server.
Service: Slow but courteous, attentive and helpful. It was our first time there and the waiter was very good making suggestions according to our preferences. He spoke English and Portuguese, which was nice. He was fast bring the menu but it look a while for him to take our orders, bring glasses of water and the bill after. Also, he did check in on us and refilled our glasses without us asking and this is always a plus.
Cleanliness: The table, utensils, glass and chairs were spotless.
Food wait time: Longer than I expected.
Food presentation: Very nicely displayed! It all looked fresh and appetizing.
Portion: Fair sizes, we were satisfied.
Taste: The food was delicious! The only thing that was not a hit was the frozen vegetables, other than that everything else was excellent. I´d go back to try a different dessert and would try the bacalhau next.
Price: On the high side.
