(Ottawa, Canada) • One of the gems in Chinatown for those who love Pho! Our first time here and we were impressed.
Ambiance: The place is small with only a handful of tables, the decor is unique and it’s a bit dark. There are not very nice quality photos of the dishes displayed on the tables. We were there after lunch and we had no problem finding a place to sit.
Service: Fast and friendly. He was fast greeting us and bringing the menu. It was our first time there and my husband’s first time eating Pho. The server was very helpful making recommendations and answering questions. He did come to check in on us later. I had to ask for the water to be refilled. Later, he was fast bringing our bill.
Cleanliness: The table was bit sticky, other than that, utensils, glasses and chairs were pretty clean. Bowl was chipped though (see photo).
Food wait time: There was only another couple at the restaurant so it was very fast.
Food presentation: I haven’t seen Pho that appetized me yet (as I was never a big fan of any type of soup) but to my husband the food was well displayed and it looked delicious.
Portion: The bowls are huge. If you are used to getting a large portion elsewhere then a medium here should be fine.
Taste: I loved my spring rolls and I find that they might be at a higher level than the ones I’ve had in Ottawa so far. My husband loved his Pho, he ordered tripe.
Price: On the high side. They accept only cash, there is an ATM on site.
