(Ottawa, Canada) • A must-go for the seafood lovers in Ottawa with option for meat lovers as well.
Visit date: 11/2019
Ambiance: Classy feel with nice marine related decor without being too much. The restaurant is big with several booths and tables. I found the dimmed lighting classy and warm however for my friend it was a bit too dark so she ended up having a bit of a headache, unfortunately.
Service: We didn’t have a reservation so we waited about 20 minutes which it is normal since the place was full. Our waitress was friendly and fast bringing the menu and waters, taking our orders and the bill later. She checked in on us and refilled our waters without us asking, which I always find this to be a plus.
Cleanliness: Our table, plates, utensils, glasses and chairs were spotless.
Food wait time: We waited a bit longer than I expected and they brought my plate first; my friend’s plate took a bit more time so needless to say, my food was not hot by the time hers arrived.
Food presentation: Very appetizing even though the lobster tail was burned.
Portion: They were generous portions. Even the dessert was bigger than most.
Taste: I had the Rock Lobster and Steak, lobster tail, rice and mash potatoes and I liked it a lot.Tough the steak was overcooked it was still tender and tasted good; the lobster was delicious even though I’m not a big fan of shellfish. My friend had the Seaport Lobster and shrimp and she loved them, and would order them again. For dessert, we shared a lemon pie. I liked the whipped cream and the consistency of the pie but I found it a bit too sweet. The biscuits were delicious and for that alone I would go back there.
Price: On the high side.
